How to Install a Blogger Template From Another Site

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1

Use your favorite search engine such as Dogpile, Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. Type "Blogger Templates" (minus the quotation marks) into the text field provided.

Step2

Once the search engine has finished populating its results, click on the links one by one until you find the appropriate site.

Step3

After you have been directed to a site that contains the templates that are satisfactory for your needs, choose one or more from the list and click on the Download link under the corresponding template(s).

Step4

A pop-up window will apeear with HTML code. Copy the code.

Step5

Go to blogger.com.

Step6

Log in.

Step7

Click on View Post.

Step8

Click on Customize.

Click on the Settings tab.

Step10

Click on the Formatting tab.

Step11

Select your choices, scroll down to the bottom of the page and paste your HTML code in the Post Template box. Click Save.

Tips & Warnings

  • Constantly preview the template before completing and saving your work. If not, you may find out that you have not achieved the look you desired or that it didn't work at all.
  • You can save the text to a Notepad document for later use.
  • If you are not familiar with HTML code, download a Reference Guide to help you or search for tutorials that help walk you through the process.
  • Be sure to create a New Post when using another template. Modifying an existing one could result in lost data (example: images, links, posts, etc.).
